Discover Tra Su Forest from Can Tho. Explore flooded forest by boat, walk the bamboo bridge, visit a Khmer pagoda, and enjoy a peaceful nature experience.
A Different Side of the Mekong Delta
This full-day journey takes you away from the busy waterways of the Mekong and into one of its most unique ecosystems — the flooded forest of Tra Su Cajuput Forest.
Along the way, you’ll pass through open countryside, rice fields, and Khmer communities before reaching the forest, where the experience slows down and becomes more focused on nature and quiet observation.

Detailed Itinerary
Departure from Can Tho
Start your day with hotel pick-up in Can Tho. The drive takes you through the Mekong Delta countryside, offering a different perspective compared to river-based tours.
Sugar Palm Fields
Stop at a sugar palm area to see a landscape typical of the region near the Cambodian border. If available, you can try fresh sugar palm juice.
Rice Fields (Seasonal)
Continue through wide rice fields — one of the key agricultural elements of the Mekong Delta. Depending on the season, the scenery changes significantly, from green fields to harvest periods.
Khmer Pagoda Visit
Visit a local Khmer pagoda in the Tịnh Biên area. This is an active religious site, offering insight into the Khmer community and their cultural presence in the region.
Arrival at Tra Su Forest
Arrive at Tra Su Cajuput Forest around midday.
Board a motorboat for an initial ride into the forest, then switch to a rowing sampan for a quieter experience. This part allows you to move slowly through narrow waterways, observe birds, and experience the stillness of the flooded forest.
Observation Tower & Bamboo Bridge
After the boat ride, walk a short path to the observation tower for a wide view over the forest canopy and surrounding landscape.
Then continue onto the bamboo bridge, which runs through the forest and offers a closer connection to the environment at ground level.
Lunch in the Forest Area
Enjoy a simple Vietnamese lunch at a local restaurant near the forest. The setting is relaxed and surrounded by nature.
Return Journey
After around 3 hours in the forest, begin the return trip.
Return to Can Tho around 5:00 PM
Or drop-off in Chau Doc around 3:00 PM if continuing your journey
